When planning the look for this project, a lot of considerations were made. With Mercury, from far away it shows grey colours but close up, the planet has many different colours. For the final design, only grey colours would be decided as having multiple colours would look too much. In terms of the sculpture design, only half of the face was decided to be covered in rocky textures and craters whilst the other half would be used for painting techniques such as speckling and stippling.

The design process for this look overall went pretty well. Rocks were used to create the textures on the one half of the face. on the other side of the face different painting techniques were used to create highlights and shadows. Mascara wands and stippling sponges were used to create speckling techniques.
