With this look, a lot of research was looked into. What was found was there is Mythology behind it. The fact that Mars is named after the Roman God of War put a lot of influence into the design of the look. The final design of the look was decided to make the character look angry and warrior like with the use of horns and the high cheekbones and low brow bones.

Design Process
Initially with the design, the chin was supposed to look like a volcano and tin foil was going to be used to construct it. However, during the construction for the final sculpt, the chin piece wasn't working with the rest of the face and the face would have just looked too cluttered with all the rest of the elements so the chin was changed. In addition to this, on the forehead, six horns were initially decided. But only two were used in the final look, to once again, make sure the look didn't look too cluttered. Overall, many sculpture and painting techniques were used and the changes that were made benefited the final images.
